Lee Ann Paxson Eddleman, 59 years old, passed away surrounded by those she loved on November 6, 2025. Lee Ann was born to Hugh Gregory Paxson and Eva Nell Raines Paxson on March 14, 1966, in Denver, Colorado.
Lee Ann graduated from Kent Denver School in Englewood, Colorado in 1984. While in high school she took art classes and fell in love with drawing with charcoal. She loved art so much she pursued it even past high school and like all other things she loved she excelled at it. So much so that she participated in art shows and won prize ribbons for her artwork.
Lee Ann always loved animals and enrolled at Colorado State University to study veterinary medicine. She met Bill Robert Eddleman at CSU, in an art class. They were married and had the first of their two children, Katlynd Rochelle Eddleman, in 1986. Three and half years later they were blessed with their youngest daughter, Courtney Rae Eddleman. To support their family, Lee Ann and Bill changed career paths and went to work.
Lee Ann got her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rae Institute of Animal Technology in 1990 and proceeded to work in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit at the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Lee Ann was an amazing, caring, intelligent, forward thinking veterinary technician and therefore was offered the opportunity to rebuild and run the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She accepted and helped the LSU vet school become one of the top schools in veterinary medicine.
Lee Ann trained everyone on CPR and was the catheter queen, even for Large Animal. She became Director of Nursing in April 2012 and helped build this new position, as there were few other veterinary schools with one. Lee Ann could never stop helping: nurses and animals alike. She was constantly adopting the unwanted misfits and loving them like nobody else would or taking in random strays from the roadside or wherever she found them.
Lee Ann taught patience, kindness and compassion. She dedicated herself to being the best she could be in her field by becoming both a Certified and Licensed Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care.
Lee Ann met her second loving husband, Michael Dee Hogge, while hunting in the mountains and they married in September of 2020. Mike loved Lee Ann so much he made sure her engagement and wedding rings were sapphires and diamonds, to signify love eternal and her favorite color – blue.
Lee Ann was an avid baker and loved being around and cooking for her family. Holidays were always marked with several “Lee Ann” specials; pies, enchiladas, soups, and wild game steaks. No recipe was “too much” and she never found one she couldn’t conquer. She was so amazing and loved, that her mother-in-law entrusted her with the Eddleman family recipe for orange rolls that she passed to her girls when they were old enough to help.
Lee Ann was diagnosed with stage IV terminal cancer in December of 2018. She was always a rockstar and a warrior; she fought for seven years before her body got tired. She continued to work while undergoing treatment until it was just too much, retiring in August of 2024.
She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh and her first husband, Bill, who sadly passed in January of 2011.
She is survived by her daughters, her mother, her husband Michael Hogge, her three sisters: Lou, Lynn, and Lisa, and two nephews: Christopher and Jesse Rollins.
We were all blessed to know and be loved by Lee Ann. There will never be another like her and she will be sorely missed by all who met her. Enjoy “dancing with yourself”, Mom. Love you forever, Scooter and Baby Girl.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask you to make a donation in LeeAnn’s name to help those animals at the vet school who need medical attention and whose owners are experiencing hardship by visiting: http://givelsu.org/leeanneddleman
