Leasia Gail Mixon Melder age 61 passed away on March 6,2024 at North Oaks Hospital at 4:30p.m. She was the widow of John "Squirrel" Melder they shared 20 years of marriage together. Born in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana she was the daughter of Fae McNabb Breeland and Charles Mixon,Sr. She was a graduate of Delta College and was a bookkeeper and office administrator until she became disabled and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she loved bonfires, playing pool, dancing, the beach and LSU football. She was always there for anybody who needed anything. Preceded in death by her beloved husband John Melder, her daughter Amanda Marie Mixon, her parents Fae Breeland and Charles Mixon,Sr. her sister Lila Mixon and her brother Elvis Lee Mixon. She is survived by her son Brian Melder, brother Charles Mixon,Jr., sisters Barbara Clinton and Charlene Swanner. Her stepchildren Jessica and J.B. Liles, Brandt and Stephanie Melder. Her grandchildren Josh and Camron Roberts, Landon Melder and Emma Liles. Her nieces Tawannah Mixon, Shannon Spohn and Cecelia Sistrunk. Her nephews Adam Stewart,Jr., Brian Rhedd, Danial Mixon, Skyler and Dorien Alford, J.T. Sistrunk and many more family and friends. A memorial will be held March 12 at 11:00a.m. at 18437 Leo Causey Rd Prairieville Louisiana. Her ashes will be taken to Ruston Louisiana where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband John. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
