Lance Corporal Thomas William Jenkins, Jr

Lance Corporal Thomas William Jenkins, jr, was born July 19, 1965, to Thomas William Jenkins, Sr and Ruby Phillips Howard in New Orleans, LA. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Thomas was 57 years old. After graduating from Walter L. Cohen High School in New Orleans, he joined the Marine Corps on September 7, 1983. Thomas completed his tour of duty on September 6, 1987, with an Honorable Discharge. During his four years in the Marines, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Thomas was a free spirit and a very kind man that walked in love to all those whom he met. He knew how to make you laugh, and he never forgot birthdays.

Lance Corporal Jenkins is survived by his two sisters, Deborah Howard Williams and Jackie Maloise Howard; five brothers, Grover Howard (Ethel and Benita), Perry Howard (Jean), Lee Howard (Warnetta), Otis Howard, and Hiram Jenkins (Patrice); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Abraham Phillips and Hannah Davis; paternal grandparents Paul Jenkins, Sr and Annie Jenkins; two brothers Frank Henry Jenkins and Don G Howard; nephew, Joshua Paul Williams.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 11:00am at the Louisiana National Cemetery Complex, 303 W Mt Pleasant Rd, Zachary, LA. The US Marine Corps will provide the funeral honors.
