Kendra Swain Trahan, a native of Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 63. Kendra loved the Lord, animals, singing, playing cards, spending time with family and friends at church, social gatherings, and on trips, especially beach trips. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Kendra received her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from LSU. She enjoyed many jobs throughout her life, beginning with the Louisiana Water Company. She then had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom and homeschool educator of many subjects including chemistry and upper-level mathematics. She then became a staff member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Randall Trahan; daughters, Camille Marie Trahan and Chanelle Rose Trahan (fiancé Chase Nicholas Usey); mother, Rose Burnitt Swain; brother, Craig Norman Swain (wife Diane Huber Swain); sister, Shari Swain Boggs (husband Edward Wayne Boggs); nieces, Amanda Kathryn Swain, Carolyn Swain LaGrange, Leanna Swain Kelleher, Jessica Boggs, Savannah Boggs James, and Sabrina Swain Boggs; and seven grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Earl Swain; mother-in-law, Emma Ruth Trahan; and father-in-law, John Ray Trahan.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 5805 Jones Creek Rd, Baton Rouge, LA from 11AM to 1PM. A funeral service will follow at 1PM with interment to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA for 2:30PM.
