Katie Marie "Mompy" LaCarbo

Katie Marie “Mompy” Rousseau LaCarbo, born in Port Vincent, LA, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 84. She and her husband raised two sons and four daughters.  Mompy enjoyed spending time and having gatherings at her home for her family and friends.  She loved to travel and listen to Elvis Presley and caring for her cats.   After many years of teaching, she retired from 7^th Ward Elementary School. Mompy is survived by her children, Sheila Aydell (Junior), Yvette Anderson, Shane LaCarbo (Sherry), Sharmaine LaCarbo Eastin, Stephanie Reed (Chris); grandchildren, Dusty Aydell (Denee), Abby Aydell, Hilary Hoover (Freddie), Ashley Aydell (Patrick), Shaina LaCarbo, Alan Darr, Reid Eastin, Sean Eastin, Daiton Reed; great grandchildren, Camden Aydell, Cason Aydell, Kendall Hoover, Harper Hoover, Talan Darr; brother, Marvin Rousseau; beloved cat, Snowflake. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. LaCarbo; parents, Octave and Amelia Cambre Rousseau; grandson, Ryan Eastin; siblings, Edna Mae Aydell and Edward “Buddy” Rousseau; cat, Snowball. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in French Settlement from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial to follow at St. William Cemetery in Port Vincent. Arrangements entrusted with Church Funeral Services of St. Amant.
