Kathleen Abadie "Mimi" Chauvin

Kathleen Abadie “Mimi” Chauvin was born January 17, 1930, and passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of the Late Raymond A Chauvin Sr. for 73 years.  She is survived by her 7 children, Raymond Jr. (Jane), Wayne Chauvin, Richard (Bobbie), Debbie Borne (Sidney), Tuttie Hubbell (J.J), Glenda Rodrigue (Harold), Rhonda Strube (Carl); 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A Chauvin, Sr.; son, David G. Chauvin; daughter-in-law, Dianne S. Chauvin; parents, Lewis and Cecile Alice T. Abadie; siblings, Lorraine Haydel, Melba Langlois, Verina Gulotta, Helena ‘Sis’ Boudreaux, Marjorie Abadie, Louis Abadie, and Lawrence Abadie.

Kathleen devoted her life in helping others in need and had a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother and Divine Mercy, as well as her Catholic faith.

The family expressed their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff of Haydel Hospice and St. Joseph Manor for their kindness and care.

A memorial service to honor Kathleen’s life will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard, LA on Friday, April 19, 2024, with visitation from 9am until Mass at 11am.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathleen’s honor to St. Joseph Manor on Cardinal Dr. in Thibodaux, LA.
