Katherine Ann Turner

Katherine "Kathy" Turner, 63, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, after a battle with cancer. She was born August 23, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois.

Kathy lost her own mother, Margaret, to cancer when she was in her early twenties — just a couple of years before becoming a mother herself. In her mother's memory, she went on to volunteer for various cancer research charities in her community, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Kathy was a mother to her three children and often extended that same love to her children's closest friends, treating many of them as her own. She was also a devoted animal lover and shared her home with several dogs and cats over the years.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret, and her aunt, Tammy. She is survived by her three children, Christopher, Rebecca, and Tara; her sister, Marie; and her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kathy's memory to the American Cancer Society, continuing the work she began in her mother's honor. Donations can be made through our website at the link below.
