Karen O’Neill

Karen O’Neill, born July 11, 1961 died on March 11, 2023 with her daughter’s at her side.  Karen died after a very quick battle with cancer.  She was married to Billy Smith who preceded her in death is 2021.  Karen is survived by her daughters: Cynthia O’Neill-Caruso, Janet Smith (Jerry Wolfenbarger), and Terra O’Neill (Cody Schigur). She resided in Head of Island, LA. Karen is also survived by her brothers Timothy, Daniel, Michael, and Steve.  She is also survived by two sisters, Helen and Mary.  Karen also had several grandchildren Cabria, Karieliese (Cynthia), Suzzette, Savannah, Jeremiah and Judah (Janet and Jerry Woflenbarger), Kaiden and Marley (Terra and Cody Schigur).

To know Karen, was to love her.  She was a fierce protector of her family, especially her daughters.  She loved being outside, rain or shine.  If you couldn’t find her, she was outside stoking the fire, playing with her grandkids, or tinkering with something, usually that something was not broken before she started tinkering with it.  When she wasn’t outside, she spent hours working on any type of puzzle. She was a kind, spirited, and outspoken soul and never met a stranger.  She welcomed everyone into her home without questions or judgements.

Please do not send flowers, instead do something kind for someone you don’t know.  Go have a campfire and roast marshmallows with those you love.  Have a shot of Crown Royal in her name.  Lastly, hug your children, grandchildren, and those you love, because tomorrow is not promised.  A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be announced at a future date.
