Judy Fern Hoffpauir

Judy Fern Lowery Hoffpauir, age 83, of Gonzales, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2026. She was born on February 9, 1943, in Freeport Texas, to CL Lowery and Virginia M. Iglinsky, Lowery.

Judy Hoffpauir's life will be remembered for her unwavering support, love and compassion for her family, friends, and others.

Throughout her life, Judy attended Welsh high school, she was part of the drama club and enjoyed the game of Tennis. Growing up she loved hayrides where she met her future husband, Loyd Hoffpauir. She spoke about her time as a teenager going to see Elvis Presley with her friends and working at the phone company.

Judy had a passion for working with the church youth group. Those who knew her loved her kind heart and caring nature. Her door was always open to everyone including taking in foster children, cooking on Wednesdays with her best friend Wonda for Wednesday night supper for their church was a profoundly uplifting experience. She also was an Activity coordinator at Ascension Counseling for over 10+ years and loved the people she helped and to bring joy to them. Judy cherished her children and family with every pence of her being.

Judy discovered profound happiness in sharing moments with her grandchildren. She cherished the tradition of holidays and gatherings with her family and there were always multiple deserts waiting to be savored.

In addition, beyond her family ties, Judy was a shining example of community leadership, nurturing young minds as a youth chaperone and driving positive change as an election poll commissioner, inspiring others to make a meaningful impact.

She is preceded by her husband Loyd Doyle Hoffpauir, who she married on February 9, 1960, in Welsh, Louisiana. Judy is also survived by her son Bryon (Penny) Hoffpauir, and her daughter Tanya (Thomas) Thibodeaux. Her grandchildren, Chandler (Zack) Meador, Landon (Brooke) Martin, Cheramie (Mark) Chaney, and Bryon (Stephanie) Hoffpauir, carry forward her spirit alongside her great-grandchildren: Kyleigh, Danica, Kayden, Aubree, Lexi, Brayden, Wyatt, Harlow, and Ava.

Her siblings Carl (Pat ) Lowery, Sheldon (Dixie ) Lowery, and Theresa (Todd ) Wallace.

Judy is predeceased by her father, CL Lowery, her mother Virginia Lowery. Her memory will continue to inspire countless lives, sparking a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.

 A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Household of Faith at 10469 Airline Highway in Gonzales, LA, 70737. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to follow.
