Joyce Fairbanks Rahmel

Joyce Fairbanks Rahmel, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Bootsie,” “Boots,” and “Boo,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on September 15, 1931, Joyce was the daughter of Louis and Ozile Guedry Fairbanks of St. Amant. She lived a long and full life, centered around her deep devotion to her family. Joyce took great pleasure in traveling, sewing, and cooking, but her greatest joy was simply being around her family, serving as an ever-present, loving figure in each of their lives. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Frederick Rahmel, and her son-in-law, David Randall Miles. Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. 

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Miles; her granddaughter, Christy Miles White and husband Jason; her grandson, Ryan Miles and wife Lauren; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Liam, Mollie, and Owen Bennett, and Dylenn, Brooklyn, and Quinn Miles. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by a Funeral Mass. Burial services will follow the mass.
