Joyce Lang Martin

Joyce Lang Martin passed away peacefully on August 23,2025 surrounded by her loves one.

Joyce was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Baton Rouge High and attended Southeastern University and RPCC for nursing.

Joyce’s greatest joy was her children, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. She loved to cook every day for her family. She loved when it was football season, and she was able to cheer on the LSU Tigers.

She was dedicated to her work; she was employed at Chip’s Groceries for 23 years. The highlight of her day was to see everyone’s smiling faces.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband James W. Martin of 56 years, Son James E. Martin (Torie), 3 granddaughters Alexis Brown (Dakota) Savannah Martin, Kaylie Martin. 3 greatgrandchildren Drake Bougere, Xander Bougere, and Bliss Brown. Also, a host of nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her son Jason W. Martin, great granddaughter Chloe Jade Martin, her parents William (Papa) and Dorothy Lang, her brothers Glynn Ray Lang, Richard Lang, and sister Shiloh Murphy.
