Joseph Thomas Rogers, 42, of Ascension Parish, Louisiana, passed away on March 15, 2026.
Joseph was born on September 20, 1983, in San Fernando, Trinidad, but spent most of his life in Ascension Parish.
He worked for many years as an Industrial I&E professional, but was truly a jack of all trades. He never hesitated to fix things or do a job, even if it meant following a YouTube video to do it.
His favorite title was that of being a father. He deeply loved his children—Kristiaun Rogers, Julien Rogers, and Ellis Rogers—and often said that they were his greatest blessing in life. He truly treasured every moment spent with them.
Joseph also found great joy in serving at his church and helping those in need. His warmth and presence touched many lives and will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his children, Kristiaun, Julien, and Ellis Rogers; his mother, Nina Rogers; his brother, George Rogers (Rebecca); his sisters, Corrine Schmidt (Chep) and Kerri Schmidt (Phillip); his grandmother, Molly Johner; and his loving former spouse, Kayla Rogers. He leaves behind a large circle of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Rogers, Jr.; his grandparents, Joby and Rita Rogers; his grandfather, Gene Johner; and his chosen bonus son, Keldon Lomas.
Joseph will be remembered for his love for his family, his faith, and the time he shared with those closest to him. His legacy lives on through his children and all who knew him.
Services honoring Joseph’s life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at New River Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
