Listen to Obituary

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Joseph Richard Heald, fondly known as “Dick,” was born on November 9, 1941, in Tulsa Oklahoma. After many years of dedicated work and a fulfilling life, he resided in Baton Rouge, La. Joseph peacefully passed away at home, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family and cherished wife of 63 years, Carol Ann Heald.

Joseph was a man of many interests. He found joy in traveling, playing golf with his friends, participating in car shows, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandbaby. At the end of each day, it was not unusual to find Joseph relaxing in his recliner, watching a show with Carol by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Heald and Mary (Hardesty) Heald; his son Mark Heald; and his baby daughter Donna Heald.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann Heald; his brothers Jack Heald (Gay Pfannkuch Heald), Mike Heald (Jackie), and Jimmy Heald; his son John Heald (Cindy); his daughter Kelli Terry (Brian); and his grandchildren: grandson Austin Terry (Jordan), granddaughters Ashley Terry and Donna Terry and Lorah Heald, and his great-grandson Zhaire. He also leaves behind a lifetime of close friends and extended family who will miss his presence dearly.

“Dick” was truly a blessing to those who lives were enhanced through his compassion and generosity for others. The kindness and consideration shown by others was demonstrated by the love that was evident in his daily walk.
