John Magee

John Magee, a native of Greensburg, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of the Albany and Independence area, died Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 56. He was the beloved husband of Cathy Taylor Magee for 32 years and loving father of Melissa Walker. Proud grandfather of Jaelyn Pourciau, Marianna Pourciau, and Jamie “Junior” Pourciau. He is also survived by siblings Carolyn Weinbrenner, Rodney Magee, Richard Magee, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents Patsy Populus Magee and Troy W. Magee.

He was a longtime employee of Walmart and enjoyed race cars and fishing in his spare time. His dedication was evident in his attendance at church and the love he showed to his grandchildren and family.
