John Michael Kendrick of Baton Rouge, La passed away of heart failure on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital at age 76. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School Class of 1968. He worked for years as a draftsman for various engineering firms and later started his own business performing home inspections. In retirement he became Santa Claus bringing the joy of Christmas to children. He was an avid fisherman competing in tournaments and making long lasting friendships throughout his life. Michael is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara White Kendrick; brother, Ronnie Kendrick; children Rachael Goff (Steven); and Blaine Kendrick (Amy). He had six grandchildren, Alexa (Hootie), Andrew (Hammerhead), Carley (Honey Bunny), Matthew (Big Man), Laura (Queen), and Adam (Little Man). He was preceded in death by his parents Merwin and Mavis Kendrick. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at Temple Baptist Church at 3650 O’Neal Lane, Baton Rouge, La followed by service at 6:30 pm.
