Joan Marie Nicoll Robinson passed away on September 30, 2025, and is now resting in the arms of her savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 85. She was born in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of LaPlace, LA. She was a woman of deep faith, full of grace, poise, elegance, and kindness. She was an active member of Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister bringing communion to the sick and homebound. She never missed the opportunity to send birthday and anniversary cards to her family and extended family, making sure everyone felt remembered and loved. She was known for her incredible cooking, which brought her family together that has created countless cherished memories. She especially enjoyed her family and attended every family event, always making her presence felt with warmth and love. She loved music, dancing, and having a good time. She always looked forward to her weekly dinner outings with her siblings, which were very special to them as well. She was always just a phone call away, she made herself available to anyone who needed her – whether for advice, comfort, or simply just to listen. She never uttered an unkind word towards anyone. She made a huge impact on so many people who knew and loved her.
She was the Loving and Devoted wife of Cleveland J. Robinson, Jr. (Johnny) for 64 years. Loving mother of her five children, Yvonne Lafont (Michael, Sr), Brenda Lasseigne (Jay), Baby Teresa, Cleveland (Cleve) J. Robinson, III, (Patty), and William (Bill) J. Robinson (Ashley). Granny to her 14 Grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late George C. Nicoll, Sr. & Amelia Marie Veron Nicoll (Mitzy). Sister of George C. Nicoll, Jr. (Rosy), Stephen J. Nicoll (Dianne), David L. Nicoll (Trish), and the late Linda Chagnard (Norwell), and Christopher Nicoll. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her immediate family alone is over 70 people. She leaves behind a great legacy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church, 1900 Greenwood Dr., LaPlace, LA 70068, on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of Flowers, please donate to Joan’s favorite charity St. Jude.
