Jimmy Joseph Galiter Sr.

Jimmy Joseph Galtier, Sr., age 83, passed away on August 3, 2026, in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Born on May 14, 1943, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Jimmy pursued his education at trade school, where he developed the skills that led to a successful career as a plumber and pipe fitter. His commitment to his work was evident throughout his life. Even after retiring from his profession, he continued to share his expertise as a handyman, showcasing his resourcefulness and determination.

He was the beloved son of the late Claude "Hawkeye" Galtier and Ouida Hebert Galtier. He is survived by his sisters, Cindy Galtier and Sheila Galtier Soulier, who shared in the bonds of family with him over the years.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Petey Ann Teel, Jimmy J. Galtier, Jr. (April Maranto Galtier), Bonnie Galtier and Cinnamon Galtier McKey (Robbie); His grandchildren, Rance Teel, Brittany Dinino Filo, Michael "MJ" Dinino, Jr., Ian Rodehorst, Tyler Galtier, Ella Rodehorst, Abbi Rodehorst and Aubree Galtier; as well as four great-grandsons. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews who were part of his extended family.

Jimmy was predeceased by his first wife, Bridget Smith Galtier, and his second wife, Lynn Guelfo Galtier. He also mourned the loss of his granddaughter, Annie Teel.

There will be no memorial service, Jimmy will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, Louisiana.
