Jeannie New Shirey, 67, resident of Walker, LA, peacefully passed away from this life on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Jeannie fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
She was born on March 26, 1955, in Independence, LA.
She enjoyed collecting all her little treasures and then sharing them with others. She also had great faith in her Lord and Savior and had a daily walk with Jesus. She will be remembered most for her thoughtfulness and generosity by those who loved her.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her best friend and husband, John Franklin “Frankie” Shirey Sr.; mother (Betty), father (RB), 2 brothers (Barney, Bobby Jean), and a son-in-law (David).
She is survived by children Frankie Marvin New (Lee Ann), Rena’ Shirey-Pace (Brandon), John F. Shirey Jr. (Carrie), Farrah Bunch (David), Monique Ezell; 15 grandchildren (Selena, Cameron, Kristen, Gina, Vincent, Geoffrey, Aaliyah, Abbigail, Lj, Vivianna, Dawson, Elayna, Ryan, Jonathan, Cory), 4 great grandchildren, 3 sisters (Deborah, Susan, Karen), 1 brother (Larry), and numerous other friends and family.
At her request, no services will be held. Please honor Jeannie with your memories and keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
