Jean Roane Nelson

Jean Roane Nelson, a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on June 11, 2025. She was a native of New Orleans, but spent the last 60 years calling St. Amant, Louisiana her home. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and monogramming gifts for friends and family, adventurous vacations with her sister and brother-in-law, and watching British television shows. She especially enjoyed following the British Royal Family.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Wayne Nelson; daughter, Sherry Leigh Nelson (Troy Blanchard); her cherished grandchildren, Crystel Dehna Nelson, Mason Michael Boudreaux, and Anna Marisa Boudreaux. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, JoAnn Roane Kazmierczak and her husband, John Kazmierczak. She had many nieces and nephews, whom she adored and would boast about every chance she could. She truly saw the best in everyone she loved.

Jean is preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew Charles Nelson; parents, Charles Christel Roane and Anna Brown Roane; her sisters, Charlotte Roane Nelson and Joan Roane; a brother, Ronald Roane; and former husband, Wayne Nelson.

Visitation with be held Monday, June 16, 2025, at Household of Faith Church (10469 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA) from 9am until service at 11am. Burial will follow at Faith Community Cemetery behind the church.

We are comforted by the knowledge that she is now resting eternally with our King – and The Queen!
