Janis May LeBourgeois

Janis LeBourgeois, a lifelong resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed away on November 4, 2025. At 76-year-old, she was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt who lived with quiet strength, loyalty, and deep love for her family.

A graduate of East Ascension High School Class of 1967, Janis spent the majority of her professional life serving the people of Louisiana through her work with the Louisiana State Government. She began her career as a Legal Secretary and faithfully continued her service for many years, with diligence, a sharp mind, and dedication.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Matthew Lorraine. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

Janis is survived by her sister, Kat LeBourgeois Clouatre; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Barbara Frederic LeBourgeois, Stacey and Nancy Riley LeBourgeois, and Benjie LeBourgeois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elizabeth Earline “Chutie” Lambert LeBourgeois; her father, Nobles LeBourgeois; her brother-in-law, Roger Clouatre; and sister-in-law Susie Rushing LeBourgeois.

Janis was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and also attended St. Patrick Catholic Church. She lived her life with humility, generosity, and devotion. Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of her sitters and health care workers for their care and support, especially St. Joseph Hospice and Francois Bend Memory Care.
