Janet Marie Hill Persick

Janet Marie Hill Persick, 63, native of Bay City, TX and longtime resident of Zachary, LA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023. Janet graduated from Bay City High School in 1978 and attended Wharton Junior College in Wharton, TX. She surfed the waves of the Texas coast until moving to Louisiana in 1986. Janet loved three things in this world—the beach, gardening, and her family. She dedicated her life to her home and the people within it. As a homemaker, she was a favorite amongst the kids of the neighborhood, wowing them with her famous popcorn balls and homemade birthday cakes. She enjoyed playing guitar and sewing but could usually be found outside gardening or on the patio sipping coffee with the family dogs. Janet is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Broox Hill of Temple, TX. She is survived by her mother, Sara Wenk (Lester) of Bay City, TX, brother Brian Hill (Melody) of El Maton, TX, her children, Angie Conlon (Patrick) of Baton Rouge, LA and Kevin Persick of Zachary, LA, and by her grandsons, Ethan and Aaron Rainach of Baton Rouge, LA. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Flannery Oaks Guest House. A private service will be held at the beach in Matagorda, TX. In lieu of flowers, please remember our beloved Janet by spending some time in nature doing things you enjoy.
