James Steven Haynsworth

James Steven Haynsworth, lovingly known as Jimmy, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 46. Born on December 31, 1976, in Zachary, LA, he was the cherished son of Charles and Priscilla Haynsworth. Jimmy’s father, Charles L. Haynsworth, Jr., preceded him in death.

Jimmy was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Margaret “Jerry” Haynsworth, as well as grandfather Lester Lewis, uncle Asa Wayne Lewis, and brother-in-law Cary Walker. He is survived by his grandmother, Mary Lee Lewis, who will continue to cherish his memory.

Jimmy grew up in a close-knit family, including his sisters: Lori Mayers (husband Darrel) and Pam Stanley (husband Tommy), and his brothers: Charles Haynsworth III and Robert “Bobby” Haynsworth (wife Angela). Their bonds of love and shared memories were an integral part of Jimmy’s life.

Jimmy married his wife, Janelle Haynsworth, in 2005. During the 18 years of marriage together, their love was a source of strength and support throughout their journey. A proud and loving father, Jimmy was blessed with two incredible children, James Haynsworth II (12) and Madilyn Haynsworth (8). He found immense joy and fulfillment in being their dad. Jimmy was happiest when spending quality time with his family. He cherished the moments they shared together.

Jimmy will also be fondly remembered by his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His family tree is adorned with branches that extend far and wide, with each connection representing a special place in his heart. His father-in-law, David Walker and mother-in-law, Pattie Arnold, will also lovingly remember the time shared with him through the years.

Jimmy had a beautiful smile that could light up a room, and his vibrant personality made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went. Jimmy’s quick wit and playful spirit uplifted the spirits of his loved ones, creating joyful memories that will forever be treasured. Jimmy’s warm-hearted personality endeared him to friends, colleagues, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He possessed a rare combination of compassion and humor that made him an extraordinary presence in the lives of those around him.

Jimmy has been a licensed master plumber for several years. His passion for plumbing began when he was introduced to Janelle’s father, David Walker. Together, they worked side by side for many years, forming a strong bond. Jimmy’s dedication to his craft and his commitment to delivering quality work were admired by his father-in-law, colleagues, and clients.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at St. Isadore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Jimmy’s presence are invited to attend. Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am (rosary at 10:00 am), with mass from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6213 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.

Though Jimmy is no longer with us, his legacy will live on in the memories we hold dear. May we find solace in the love and laughter he brought into our lives, and may his spirit continue to inspire us.
