James E. Ford, of Joliet, IL., was born to Cytha Ford and James “Jake” Hilton Ford of McMinn, TN.

He is survived by his two children, Scott E. Ford and Jennifer L. Ford Neese (Donald), cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Macak, Austin Ford, Autumn Neese , Aubree Neese, and Liam Neese, a great-granddaughter Remi Lynn Neese, and his youngest brother, Robert “Buck” Ford, along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn L. Ford, his parents, his brothers Calvin Ford and Barry Ford, as well as his sisters Vivian Cheney and Rebecca Cheney.

Ed also leaves behind many dear friends, the entire Cantu family, the Loehr family, the Aguilar girls, and Rebecca “Becky” Powers

Anyone who knew Ed, knew him as “Papa.” He loved being outside in his yard, working on something, or spending time in the garage. Through all the ups and downs of his life, Ed was truly the definition of “Built Ford Tough.”

Anyone who came into contact with Ed always had a story. In lieu of flowers , any stories shared would be deeply appreciated to help ease the family’s pain in losing such an amazing man.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Ingalls Park A.C., 20 N. Park Road, Joliet, Illinois, 60433, From NOON until 5PM.  The family hopes to see everyone there to celebrate the life of James "Ed" Ford.
