James Edward “Jimmy” Oxner, Jr.

James Edward “Jimmy” Oxner, Jr. transitioned from this life on July 10, 2023. Born in Mobile, AL on October 30th, 1960. He was a resident of Maurepas, LA. He attended Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge and followed along in his father’s footsteps at a young age. He was an excellent heavy crane operator for forty three years until he began his seven year battle with cancer which kept him from continuing the trade he loved. His father taught him well in the field of construction. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Oxner, son Jacob Paulino Oxner, father James Edward “Jim” Oxner, Sr., residents of Maurepas, LA. Sister Pam Oxner Guedry and brother-in-law Charles W. Guedry of Gonzales, LA. and brother Michael Lee Oxner and sister-in-law Sherilyn Talay Oxner and their twin nieces Dorothy and McKayla Oxner of Charleston, SC. Preceded in death by his mother Patricia Joiner Oxner, of SC, his grandparents Raymond and Dorothy Joiner and Robert and Annie Oxner, his mother and father in-law Maggie and Kenneth Carroll.A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Port Vincent Community Center, 18500 LA-16, Port Vincent, LA 70726 on July 29, 2023 from 4pm-7pm. Preparations performed  by Church Funeral Services & Crematory of St. Amant, LA.
