James H. "Jamie" Chapman, III

James Hubert "Jamie" Chapman, III, born on July 1, 1968, passed away on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at the age of 57.

Jamie was born in Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from Broadmoor High School. He was a LANDMAN with his own company, Chapman Land Services, as well as a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he was recently baptized. Jamie had a passion for the great outdoors, except maybe PA snow. J-ME enjoyed living life to the fullest and especially spending time with lifelong friends. PHISH ON!

J-ME is survived by his loving father, James H. "Jim" Chapman, Jr.; son Blaine Chapman and wife Anna; granddaughters, Vivienne and Daisy; devoted and loving sisters, Danielle Chapman Gremillion, and Michelle Chapman Dwyer and husband, Keith; niece, Faith Gremillion; and nephew, Chase Croy (wife, Jenna; Cooper and Lilliana). As well his special friend, Paige Cavalcante of San Angelo, Texas.

Jamie fought the good fight until his last breath and was surrounded by so many of his family and childhood friends. He was truly blessed by the Buccaneer spirit! BHS'87

He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Melba Ann Verret Chapman, and grandparents, Hubert & Nellie Jo Chapman of Calhoun, GA; and Gabriel & Del Verret, of Morgan City, LA.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Daniel LaVie and his entire team at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center as well as Hospice of Baton Rouge, Butterfly Wing.

Visitation will take place at Broadmoor Baptist Church on Friday, January 23, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM. Private Burial will follow at a later date.

Pallbearers will include René Tassin, Dana Barrett, Sean O'Connor, Stephen Harrison, David Ellis, & Greg Miller.
