Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Littell Bourgeois

Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Littell Bourgeois, born November 26, 1953 in Cairo, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, June 29, 2023 at the Hospice of Baton Rouge after battling dementia for many years. Jackie is survived by her three loving children, daughter Renee Bourgeois (Kerry), sons Aaron Bourgeois (Eric), Patrick Bourgeois (Kendra), two grandchildren Karigan and Jack Bourgeois, two brothers John Littell and (Rosa), and Tom Littell, nieces and nephews LuAnn, Kathie, Scott, and David. She is preceded in death by Michael Bourgeois, and parents Jack and Mabel Littell. Jackie moved to Baton Rouge with her family the summer before her senior year of high school. She graduated from Broadmoor High in 1971, continuing on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in office administration from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. After college Jackie went on to work at Louisiana State University, where she worked for 36 years, retiring from LSU Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 2013. Jackie faithfully attended Florida Boulevard Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she loved going to her Sunday school class with friends. She also did a bit of traveling with them. Jackie loved taking pictures of her adventures and also of her family. Jackie was a caregiver to her core. If she was not caring for her children, then she was caring for her mother and father, whom she loved dearly. Jackie also loved to cook “Sunday lunch” for her whole family every Sunday, a tradition she carried on from her mother. One thing is for sure, Jackie will be missed by all who know and love her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7th from 11am-1pm in the Chapel at Revival Temple Church in Walker, LA, with memorial service to follow at 1pm.
