Jacqueline “Jackie” Fenet Durham

Jackie was born in Winnsboro, LA and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, in Gonzales, LA.

She will always be loved and adored by her brother, George Durham III, and his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Temple Ray and grand-dog, Bella; son, Bill Haygood and daughter in law, Cindy, and her darling grandchildren, Ashley Rivera and great grandchild, River Finklea, Aaron Huckabee (wife, Emily), Jared Huckabee, Madeline Haygood, Lauren Haygood, nephews Ashton Durham and Will Durham, niece Tess Pearo, and her dear friends Phyllis Laurent and Meg McCarthy.

 She was preceded in death by her partner John Rappold, parents Lila and George Durham, Jr., aunt, Maggie Ellis, brother, John Durham, sister, Margaret Zuber, and daughter, Leaha Huckabee.

Jackie went back to school late in life and became a registered nurse. It was her life force and passion and she worked until January of this year.

She loved all the many cats and dogs she had throughout her lifetime, and had a particular fondness for greyhounds. She loved to cook and garden; embroider and paint with her granddaughters, Madeline, and Lauren; she loved Delbert McClinton and Tom Petty. She could read for hours and lately, she’d developed a love for watching bull riding and Korean dramas on Netflix.

But more than anything in this world, she loved her family, and she will be missed forever. She belongs among the wildflowers.
