Jacob Paul Richardson, 37, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a loving son and brother, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born on March 25, 1986, in Orlando, Florida, to Joy Geralyn Williams and Kevin Anthony Richardson. He spent most of his adult life in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Jacob was a fiction writer, avid reader, and experimental filmmaker; he received many accolades for his short stories and films. He also had a variety of other hobbies and interests throughout his life. His curiosity about the world and dedication to learning would follow him to the outdoors, where he regularly enjoyed nature walking.
Jacob had high hopes for the future and will be remembered for the essence of who he was -- intelligent, kind, compassionate, and creative. His family is grateful Jacob was at peace during his last few weeks and confident in God’s love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents James Williams, Sr., Ellen Metoyer Williams, Ned Richardson, and Shirley Williams Richardson; uncles James Williams Jr. and Michael Richardson; aunt Nadine Richardson Adams; and his beloved dog Hershey.
He is survived by his mother Joy Geralyn Williams; father Kevin Anthony Richardson (Rosa); brother Joshua Troy Richardson; stepsister Claudine Hernandez; aunts Lynette Baudy (Jerome, Sr.), Elaine Villavaso (Edison) and Donna Williams; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30).
A Catholic interment service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, located at 3421 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts and/or donations may be made to the funeral home, which will be forwarded to the family.
