Obituary
Jackson Owen Thomas Gilbert, III, affectionately known as Owen, age 45, of Ethel, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2025. Surrounded by loved ones in his final moments, Owen went home to be with the Lord.
Early Life
Owen was born in Baton Rouge on December 4th, 1979, to Linda Gilbert Woods. He spent his formative years in the Baton Rouge area, growing up with a strong sense of family and community.
Service and Career
Proudly serving his country, Owen was a member of the United States Army. Upon completing his military service, he dedicated most of his adult life to working as a Pipe Fitter.
Family
Owen is survived by his wife, Jennifer Jessup Gilbert; his sons, Kayden James Malo, Brantley Gilbert, and Sutton Taylor; his daughters, Makynzie Gilbert and Piper Gilbert; his mother, Linda Woods; and his sister, DeShea Mitchell.
Remembrance
Owen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Jo Ellen Hurt; his stepfather, Michael K Woods; his uncle, Michael Hurt; and his brother-in-law, Curtis Mitchell.
Memorial Service
A memorial service honoring Owen’s life is scheduled for 1:00 pm on December 6th at Beyond the Walls Church, 8039 Vincent Rd, Denham Springs. Pastor David Brown, a close friend, will officiate the service.
