Irene Thibodeaux Priester, 81, was born on September 17, 1943, and rested from this life on August 22, 2025, at the age of 81 years.
She was a born in Melville, La., raised in Dupont, La., and a longtime resident of Denham Springs, La.
With a career spent in the banking and financial sectors, she served as Operations Officer for two banks and was a supervisor for the Resolution Trust Corporation during the savings & loan bailout of the 1990s. She retired from Advocate Financial in 2005. Irene enjoyed time with her family, taking care of others, and the occasional bingo game.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Troy Denson Hodges; grandchildren, Walker Winston Hodges, Adley Denson Hodges, and their mother Vicki Yohe Hodges; bonus son, Dewey Lewis Priester; bonus daughter, Bridgette Marie Priester; bonus grandchildren, Chelcie Ann Priester, Romie Grace Priester; bonus great-granddaughter, Adelia Nova Lee Priester; siblings, Weston Thibodeaux, and Verna Greer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dillon Adrian Priester; parents, Vernie Lee and Orliean Thibodeaux; siblings, Adalie Thibodeaux, Eugene Thibodeaux, Murphy Thibodeaux, Louis Thibodeaux, Dorothy Farve, Wesley Thibodeaux, Leslie Thibodeaux, and Orliean Thibodeaux, Jr.; former spouse, and Troy’s father, Woodroe Denson Hodges.
A memorial service will be held at First Pentecostal Church in Denham Springs, La. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM.
