Listen to Obituary

Inger Linnea Parvizian was born on June 13, 1944, in Orebrö, Sweden to Eric and Ellen Palm. She was the oldest of four siblings, her brother Guy, and her sisters, Gitt and Anne, the twins. As a teen she was an athlete, a competitive swimmer and a member of a Swedish National Handball Team. She represented Sweden in a number of competitions throughout Europe. In the early 1960’s she emigrated to the United States to Washington DC to be the governess to the Swedish Diplomatic family.

In the late 1960’s she met her husband Massud at an international persons mixer at a YMCA. They fell madly in love and married in 1968. Two years later, God blessed them with their son, Hossein Reza Parvizian. And in 1982, their second blessing was born, their daughter, Leila Linnea Parvizian.

She lived in Maryland, Dallas, Houston, and eventually settled in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Of all the places she lived, she loved Texas the best.

She was a relentless traveler, traveling through all of Europe, Iran, China, India, and the Caribbean. She always had wonder for all the spectacular sights and people everywhere she went.

She was the most amazing cook, who learned to cook all kinds of food. I think her favorite was baking. She made our home so beautifully scented with cakes and cookies at Christmas time, her favorite season.

She spoke three languages fluently, her native tongue of Swedish, English, and Farsi, which she learned in order to communicate with her father-in-law.

She loved animals, especially her dogs.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge where she offered her talents to their knitting ministry and Vacation Bible School.

She was a devoted mom who gave her all for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son Hossein and daughter Leila, her daughter in law April, son in law David, and her grandchildren, William, Robert, Everett, Anna Camille, Louisa and Lydia, her nephew Patric, and her favorite child Maggie, her golden doodle.

A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, Saturday, December 27th. Visitation at 10:00am and Memorial Service to begin at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the First United Methodist Church’s Children’s Ministry or Vacation Bible School.
