Ida Lee Ann "Skipper" Parent Martinez

Ida Lee Ann “Skipper” Martinez was born on May 21, 1948, and was a lifelong resident of Gonzales. She passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family.   

Skipper is survived by her daughter, Yvette Martinez (Jeff); son, Tim Martinez; five grandchildren, Todd Tate, Nicole Tate (Brandon), Blaire Tate, Trey Martinez (Austin), Cody Martinez (Harlie); six great grandchildren, Jaelyn, Brailee, Talynn, Grayson, Loxleigh and Shaylee; extended family, Christina, Rebeckah, and Meghann Rutherford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends, who were very dear to her.  

Skipper is preceded in death by her parents, Gerard J. Parent and Elizabeth L. Bourque Parent; siblings, Jerry Parent, Roy Parent, Joseph Ray Parent, Nell Rouyea, Betty Reine, Bonnie Daigle, Mary Ann Hall, and Ida Lee Parent; special niece she considered her sister, Lovie (LULUV) Daigle Smith.

A memorial service to honor Skipper will be celebrated at a later date.
