Henry Schexnayder, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 27, 1939 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on August 30, 2025.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice L. and Lionel Schexnayder, and six siblings: Louis, Lucy, James, Robert, Sidney, and Joan Ann.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Schexnayder; his children, Brian Schexnayder, Barry (Jane) Schexnayder, Brenda Schexnayder, Jan Scioneaux, and Henry (Laurie) Schexnayder; his grandchildren, Daulton Schexnayder, Meagan (Brody) LeJeune, Morgan (Reuben) Borne, Devin (Allie) Scioneaux, Aimee (Logan) Rodrigue, Mason (Callie) Scioneaux, and Henry Schexnayder III; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jase, and James LeJeune, Gracie and Jonathon Schexnayder, Riley Borne, Micah and Ella Scioneaux, Luke, Lee, and Lane Rodrigue, with one more blessing soon to arrive. He is also survived by his brother, George Schexnayder.

Henry proudly served his country as an Army veteran. A hardworking man, he dedicated much of his life to farming sugar cane and later became the owner of an auto parts store before enjoying his well-earned retirement.

He had a lifelong love for sports, especially baseball and football, and he cherished the times spent hunting, fishing, watching TV, and simply being outdoors. Above all, Henry found joy in the company of his family, who were the center of his life. He was also a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Knights of Columbus and had earned the title of being a fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus. 

He will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and the legacy of love and hard work he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church. A Liturgy of the Word service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
