Henry O. Lasseigne Jr., 85, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Henry lived a life defined by loyalty, quiet strength, and a deep love for the people and passions that meant the most to him. Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 LA 621, Gonzales, LA 70737. Visitation will begin at 10:15 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816. A small reception will be held at St. Mark following the burial service.

Henry attended and graduated from Ascension Catholic High School, where he excelled in basketball and first discovered his lifelong love of cars. A true gearhead at heart, he found joy in racing and spent countless hours working on classic and race cars. Whether he was under the hood fine-tuning an engine or at the track taking in the thrill of competition, Henry’s passion for cars was a defining part of who he was. His mechanical skill, patience, and willingness to help anyone who needed a hand made him a trusted friend in the classic car community and beyond.

After high school, Henry proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he began his professional career with Dow Chemical and later worked for Cabela’s, where his steady work ethic and reliability were deeply valued.

Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Businelle Lasseigne, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with faith, family, and adventure—RV camping with the Cruisin’ Cajuns, dancing, enjoying trips to the casino, and cheering each other on through every chapter of life.

Born to Henry and Mary Lasseigne, Henry grew up in a close‑knit family and carried those values throughout his life. He is survived by his sons, Robert Lasseigne (Kim), and Jeffery Lasseigne (former daughter‑in‑law Laura); and his grandchildren, Austin Lasseigne (Maggie), Landon Lasseigne (Stevie), Grace Lasseigne, Hope Forbes (Fox), TeJay Butters (Tori), and Derek Butters (Chasity Smith). He is also survived by his great‑grandchildren: Jane Lasseigne, Emmett Butters, Ella Butters, Breelie Smith, Beaux Dillon Butters, and Meredith Butters—each of whom will forever cherish his guidance, humor, and unwavering support.

Henry also leaves behind his siblings: Mary Ann Huerstel, Gerald Lasseigne (Pat), Stephen Lasseigne (Jennifer), and Dwayne Lasseigne (Annie). He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Clem Huerstel, and his great‑grandson, Bentley Butters, whose memory he held close to his heart.
