Henry Germann Brinkmann Jr., a cherished pillar of the Baton Rouge Deaf community, transitioned from this life on April 30, 2024, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born on September 7, 1948, in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, Louisiana, his life was a tapestry woven with compassion, advocacy, and unwavering dedication.
Known by many endearing names—Henry, Hank, Daddy, and Hee Hee—Henry's essence radiated warmth and inclusivity. His journey, colored by early challenges, ignited a passion for education and advocacy, particularly within the Deaf community. Henry's legacy resonates in his tireless efforts on various boards and committees, where he continuously campaigned for legislative measures safeguarding the future of Deaf individuals.
Henry is survived by his wife Wendelynn "Wendy" Edwards Brinkmann, daughter Annabelle Erin Brinkmann, fur babies Puppy Monster and Pooka, special nephews Wyatt Bowman, Morgan, and Triston Boothe, mother Marilyn Golden Brinkmann (age 100), sisters Marilyn Stolzenthaler (Brent), Deborah Jacob, Bridget Helm (Tim), and brother Brian Brinkmann (Sheri). He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Germann Brinkmann Sr.
To honor Henry's profound impact, we invite you to a Celebration of Life memorial service at The Cabin and Courtyard, 5405 LA-44, Gonzales, LA 70737, on May 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. We shall commemorate a life of purpose, grace, and unwavering love guided by Pastor John Lovas.
