Helen Grace Hebert departed this world after faithfully finishing her race on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Helen was born Helen “Grace” Rogers on September 1st, 1940, the youngest of six children to Parents Thomas and Maline Rogers in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from St. Amant High School in 1960. She married Willie Hebert on December 21, 1962 and began to raise a family. Two daughters, Tammy Kennedy of Zachary and her husband, Jeff and Belinda Schexnayder of Gonzales and her husband Kent. Helen worked as a seamstress at The Pants Factory and later for Neese Industries. She retired from seamstress work after nearly three decades. Early in their marriage Helen and Willie enjoyed camping trips to the beach. She lovingly took care of her ailing husband Willie until his death in 2000. Helen faithfully attended church and served the Lord until her heavenly homecoming. Later in life she would meet Mr. Joe Besselman. For the next 17 years and until Joe’s death in 2020 they enjoyed spending time at the farm in Natchez, Mississippi, traveling the country and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Helen loved Joe’s children Joseph, Charles, Michael, Catherine and Susie. While spending time at the farm, she became close to Jeremy whom she called her son and loved very much. It was during this time she was affectionately given the name “Boss Lady.” Helen is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Melanie Rogers, her husband Willie Hebert, Two sisters, Rosemary Richardson and Effie Ronkratz, Two brothers Joby and Selby Rogers. She is survived by her brother Dixie Rogers. Helen loved her grandchildren very much ( Brian, Heather , Victoria , Nicolas , Elizabeth and great grandson, Jude Travis) and was always so proud of all their accomplishments. She enjoyed making gifts with her needle and thread in her spare time for all the people she loved or even strangers she just met. She was a little lady with a big heart, smile, and the most gifted hands. A service will be held Saturday, July 22, 11 a.m. CST at Household Of Faith Church in Gonzales, LA. Visitation times will be from 9 am – 11am . Graveside service will follow at New River Baptist cemetery.
