Gwendolyn M DeArmond

Gwendolyn McCrory DeArmond, a resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, was born July 29, 1938, unto Gerald M. McCrory, Sr. and Jessie S. McCrory. She departed this life on April 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Gwen was a retired cost accountant for Monochem and Borden Chemical. She enjoyed traveling, cruising with her family, reading and absolutely loved dancing with her loving husband to their favorite song “In The Mood.”

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald M. McCrory, Sr. and Jessie S. McCrory along with her brother, Gerald M. McCrory Jr. She is survived by her adoring husband of 69 years, George “Toot” De Armond; daughters, Toni Leggett, Melanie Brignac and Dana Soday(Chuck); sister, Shirley Evans.

Gwen had 8 grandchildren, who referred to her as “Granny”; Sabrina Lamendola, Heather Davila and David Leggett, Derrick Leveron and Dawn Poche, Lyndsey Nguyen, Sydney Schindelmeiser and Shaina LaCarbo; 11 great-grandchildren. Gwen is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, who referred to her as “Aunt Gwenie.”
