Gwendolyn Sheets Blank

Gwendolyn Sheets Blank was born on September 17, 1959, and passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 66 years old. She was born in Baton Rouge, La and spent most of her life in St Amant, La.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana to her family. Gwen loved watching any LSU football or baseball game, reading a good book or playing games on her iPad. But most of all her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and constantly doting on her numerous grandchildren. Anytime she was available she was always there to cheer on her boys in youth sports as well as their 4H and FFA events growing up and she carried on that legacy with her grandkids as well.

She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Blank. As well as her mother, Dolores Acosta; her two sons, Bart Himel (Selena), Eric Himel (Claire) and her stepson Chance Blank (Erica) and siblings Delina Schexnayder (Bob), Melissa Frederic (Keith) and Mark Sheets (Darlene). Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Gabby & Avery Himel; Lela, Kaisleigh, & Everleigh Himel; Addieson Guillotte, and Chance Jr, Collin, Claire and Camille Blank. Gwen is preceded in death by her father, John Sheets and well as her brother Raymond Sheets.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. The family ask that everyone keeps Gwen’s husband, Tim, in your prayers as he recovers from his injuries. We would also like to thank all of those individuals that have reached out to us during this difficult time. Donations in her memory can be made to Ronald McDonald House.
