Glavin “Sonny” Hudson

Glavin Burris “Sonny” Hudson, 85, passed away on April 26, 2021 at his home in Prairieville.  Sonny was born on July 22, 1935 at home in Galvez, LA, to Maiben and Ida Hudson.  Sonny grew up at the Galvez “Y” and graduated from Gonzales High School.  Sonny was known for his generosity and for his love and appreciation of automobiles.  Sonny was a lifelong believer in Jesus Christ.  He was an electrician and member of IBEW local 995, and later founded Dixie CB. 

Sonny is survived by his good friend and former wife, Dorothy Lambert Hudson; one daughter, Robbie Adair Hudson; one son, Robin Neal Hudson (Kelly); grandchildren, Katie Stevens Maynard (Jesse), Jesse Lee DeLapp (Mikki), Jared Neal Hudson, Lindsey Hudson Steed (Jay), and Lily Camille Hudson; and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maiben Ovide Hudson and Ida Lucille Stephens; his sister, Ruby Hudson Dixon; and grandson, David Michael Stevens. 

The family is grateful to Dr. Jacques Saunders, Nurse Naomi, and staff for their compassionate care. 

A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Household of Faith, Mt. Zion Campus, 17683 Highway 933, Prairieville.  Interment will be at a later date.
