Geraldine "Geri" Menendez Mayers

Geraldine "Geri" Menendez Mayers, 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her sisters at 10:10 am on Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She was born on January 11, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a longtime resident of Port Vincent and a devoted employee of Rivers Luck Casino for 30 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Tonia West; grandchildren, Zoey Baham and Conor West; sisters, Raylee Avet, Joyce Turnage (Ike Turnage), Gail Morgan (Henry Morgan) and Joanne Menendez; a special great­ niece, Katelyn Landry; and numerous other nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alix Renard Menendez and Alfred Menendez, Sr.; siblings, Leatrice Menendez, Alice "Jean" Niehaus, Alfred Menendez Jr, and Mona Ballard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on February 5, 2024 at New Beulah Baptist Church, 44641S Baptist Rd, Hammond, LA beginning at 4:00 pm until funeral services starting at 6:00 pm.
