Gerald Wayne Jordan, known to many as Jerry, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 60. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jerry was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and spent his early years in La Porte City, Iowa.
Jerry was the beloved son of Pamela Nelson and Wayne Sheppard and was later adopted by Rose and Ronald Jordan. He graduated from La Porte City High School and is remembered fondly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Devin Jordan; granddaughter, Alayna Jordan; his mothers, Pamela Nelson and Rose Jordan; and his brothers Glen Nelson, David Nelson, Rodney Jordan, and Randy Jordan. He was predeceased by his fathers, Ronald Jordan and Wayne Sheppard, and his brother, James "Jimmy" Jordan.
Jerry had a passion for working on cars, motorcycles, and boats, particularly focused on enhancing their speed and performance. Known for his positive demeanor and willingness to help others, he was almost always in good spirits and generous with his time.
A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the First United Pentecostal Church of Livingston, located at 29586 S Frost Rd, Livingston, LA 70754.

Jerry Jordan’s life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and a passion for the things he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
