Gene Russel McKey

Gene Russel McKey, age 74 passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at his residence after a long illness with COPD. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Louisiana Office Supply after a lifelong career in sales. He is survived by his mother, Betty Peavy McKey; son, Robbie McKey and wife Cinnamon, daughter, Christina Peterson and husband Chet, Stepson, Brandon Bourgeois and wife Leigh Ann; grandchildren, Maci McKey, Abby McKey, Laine Peterson, Blaire Peterson, Collin Peterson, Ian Rodehorst, Ella Rodehorst, Abbi Rodehorst, Luke Bourgeois, and Jack Bourgeois; brother, Alton H. McKey, Jr. and wife Karen, sister, Sherri Cambre and husband Darryl. He is preceded in death by his father, Alton H. McKey, Sr; his two wives whom he loved so much, Donna M. McKey and Pamela T. McKey; granddaughter, Brooke Lyn Peterson; brother, Charles Dale McKey. The family will have a private memorial at a later date to celebrate Gene’s life where he will be laid to rest with his beloved Donna at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.
