Gari Deanne Mccullough

Gari DeAnne McCullough, 50, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on February 9, 2023 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

DeAnne was born on May 23, 1972, in Baton Rouge. She graduated from Belaire High School in 1990. After working to support her family for a time. She went on achieve her bachelor’s degree in general studies from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.

Upon graduation, DeAnne began her job as a customer service representative for Bercen Chemical. This began a 7-year career that ultimately led her to her dream position as a human resources manager.

DeAnne is survived by her two children from a previous marriage, Mason Sensat and Miranda Sensat. In 2016, she met Rodney Wayne McCullough, and they wed in 2017. DeAnne welcomed two stepchildren Jacob McCullough, and Elise McCullough. Recently she welcomed a granddaughter, Emory McCullough.

DeAnne is also survived by her parents Thomas and Beverly Raub, her brothers Gary Westfall, Brian Raub, and James Raub, her sister Rhonda Adams (Tony). Her favorite uncle and aunt Kenny Wayne and Wanda Martin Sr. and family. Along with nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friend Lauren Browning. Also, her mother-in-law and dear friend Debbie McCullough, her in-laws Kevin and Kristie McCullough, Brian McCullough, Desiree and Darin Shaw, Kathleen and David Creel.

DeAnne was preceded in death by her brother David Westfall, her father Gary Westfall, her grandparents David C. and Gurthel Martin, her father-in-law Billy McCullough and brother-in-law Jason Peavy.

Special thanks to the Bercen family, Old Dutchtown residents, Healing Place Church, St. Joseph’s Hospice along with the nurses, Melissa Mistretta and Jamie Hall.  A special thanks to Barbara Bruton of St. Joseph’s hospice for taking such good care of her and quickly become a good friend of DeAnne’s.

A celebration of life will be conducted at the Healing Place Church annex building on February 21st.  Visitation will be begin at 10:00 AM and service at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers please make monetary donations to Kelli’s Kloset or St. Joseph’s Hospice in DeAnne’s name.
