Franklin “Frank” V. Endom Jr. passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, following complications from surgery. He was 87. The son of Franklin V. Endom Sr. and Mary Theresa Sweeney Endom, Frank grew up in New Orleans and was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School (Class of 1956). He went on to earn both his undergraduate and law degrees from Tulane University (BA 1960, JD 1963). His years at Jesuit and Tulane gave him lifelong friendships, a sharp mind, and an enduring commitment to service.
Frank built a distinguished legal career at Pollack, Rosenberg, Rittenberg & Endom in New Orleans, where he practiced labor and contract law primarily for the Orleans Parish School Board. His work reflected not only legal expertise but also a sincere belief in supporting public education. After Hurricane Katrina, Frank relocated to Baton Rouge and continued his focus on supporting public education by working with charter schools across Louisiana.
He embraced life with curiosity and craft. Frank was an avid fisherman who, on his last fishing trip, caught his limit in speckled trout just five days before his surgery. Frank was also a master woodworker, whose handmade trivets delighted friends and family. His faith community was central to his life; he was highly active with St. Rita’s in New Orleans and later with St. Aloysius in Baton Rouge. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, Frank found both community and an outlet for his commitment to service. He always looked forward to lunch on Fridays with his Baton Rouge “Lunch Bunch” friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sally Godchaux Endom; his brothers, Don and Philip Endom; and his sister, Mary Anne Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Hannaman LaBorde Endom; by his five children: Paul LaBorde (Bridget), Rob LaBorde Endom (Susan), Frank Endom III (Ileana), Katherine Davis (Mike), and David Endom (Mary Catherine); and by his ten grandchildren: Harrison and Cecilia LaBorde; Brenna and Aubrey LaBorde Endom; Katarina and Ian Endom; Preston and Connor Davis; and Jack and Peter Endom. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Guy Cook; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Kay Burns Collins and Donald Collins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church (2025 Stuart Ave) on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jesuit High School of New Orleans or St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge.
