Forrester Stephen Aucoin

  Forrester Stephen "Steve" Aucoin, age 76, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after battling Dementia. Born on December 25, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Steve lived a life marked by service, passion, and devotion to his family and community.

   Steve proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After returning home in 1972, he continued his commitment to the nation by serving as a Chief Petty Officer in the Naval Reserve until 1995. His decades of military service reflected his steadfast dedication and sense of duty. 

  Beyond his military career, Steve was known for his deep love of culinary arts. He found joy in preparing Cajun seafood dishes as well as anything he could dream up and was happiest when cooking for friends and family! His kitchen was a place where full bellies met fuller hearts—a testament to the warmth and generosity he extended to those around him. Steve also had a lifelong passion for automobiles. Whether he was detailing a classic car to perfection, building engines from scratch, or racing down the track, he found excitement and satisfaction in every aspect of automotive life. His enthusiasm for cars was matched only by the care he took in sharing that interest with others.

   He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicole Aucoin Bourque; son-in-law Brady Bourque; and three cherished granddaughters: Olivia Maude (6), Baylor Marie (5), and Mollie Michelle (2). Steve’s legacy lives on through them and through all who were fortunate enough to know him.

   He was preceded in death by his mother, Olivia Braud Aucoin, and father, Forrester Sebastian Aucoin.

   A Memorial Visitation will be held on February 7, 2026, from 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 3625 LA-75, St. Gabriel, LA 70776. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following at 11 AM. A light reception to follow in the Parish Activity Center.
