Fonda Sue Wright Buckley

A ceremony celebrating the life of Fonda Sue Wright Buckley will be held on Thursday October 9, 2025, at Satsuma Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.

Fonda Sue was born on October 20, 1949, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 04, 2025, at the age of 75 years.

She married the love of her life Roy Buckley on December 20, 1969. They had two children, Staci and Troy. They were married for 49 years.

She went by many names, Mama, Nana, Aunt Fonda, Aunt Sue, and best friend. She was the person who kept us straight on remembering dates like birthdays, when to put the garbage out to the road, when our favorite TV shows were coming on, and important monumental dates like anniversaries and memorials. Now we are BIG trouble without her helpful reminders.

Fonda enjoyed going out to eat, with her best friend Pam Worsham, especially to Sonny’s Barbeque. She loved her family and loved spending holidays and special times with them. Her times with her grandchildren Christian and Camryn always brought her joy. Whether watching movies, snuggling, playing hide and seek; anytime with her grandchildren she cherished. She cooked a chili that was adored by her family. Her veggie soup had healing powers for her daughter Staci. She loved talking on the phone and was often the touchstone for people keeping them informed and being a good listener.

She loved the Lord and believed in the power of prayer. She was always passing on prayer request and starting a prayer chain for people.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Buckley, parents Inez Bonner and Walter Wright Sr., brother Jack Wright Jr., sisters Bettie Flores and Patricia Taylor.

Survivors include her daughter Staci Buckley, son Troy Buckley, her brother Mark Wright (Rosie), brother-in-law Roy “Spud” Taylor, grandchildren Christian and Camryn Buckley, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

She will be dearly missed forever and always.
