Listen to Obituary
“Floyd E. Pittman, born on February 7, 1940, of Marrero, Louisiana, has passed away. A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Floyd will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his career, and his passion for hobbies.

Floyd was one of six children to Steve and Velma (Blades) Pittman, who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Central High School (Class of 1958.) Floyd went on to serve his country as a proud U.S. Army veteran and later served his community as a deputy sheriff in Livingston Parish. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Rubicon, where he worked in various process operations roles before his retirement.

Floyd enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, woodworking, and classic cars, passions he shared with family and friends who will fondly remember his craftsmanship and enthusiasm for his hobbies.

He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis and his grandson, Cade. He also had another son, Ken, and four additional grandchildren, as well as four great-grandchildren. Floyd’s faithful dogs, Bubba and Boo Boo, brought him daily joy in his later years. He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his work ethic, and the hobbies that brought him so much joy.

A private service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an animal welfare charity of your choice.

May he rest in peace
