Ethelie "Lee" Braud

Ethelie “Lee” Braud, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to many, passed peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by family. She was 88, a native of Brignac, LA, and a resident of St. Amant. She loved cooking for her family, tending to her flowers and gardening, playing cards with her friends and was especially known for her homemade fruit cakes. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Monday, May 19, from 9 am until religious service at 11 am, conducted by the Rev. Matthew Lorrain. Entombment in the church mausoleum. She is survived by her five children, Edwin “Paul” Braud, Jr (Connie), Craig “Goofy” Braud (Tina), Kevin Braud (Kristina), Dana Abadie, Jason Braud (Melissa); 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia Watts, Sybil Gautreau (Leon) and Elaine Allen (Keith). She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “Hotsie” Braud, Sr; parents, Solomon and Anna Babin; her siblings, Gerald Babin, Mervin Babin and Gwen Babin. Pallbearers will be her sons, Paul, Craig, Kevin, Jason Braud and grandsons Jordan Blank and Dane Braud. The family wishes to thank her granddaughter, Elizabeth Starns, ICU nurse Laura, and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice.
