Erik Lyn Cummins

Erik Lyn Cummins, 54, of Addis, LA, died unexpectedly of heart failure in Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was born at Ft. Polk, Louisiana in 1970 to Robert Lee Cummins, Jr. and June Ellen Choplin. As a child he loved hunting and fishing in the bayous with his grandfather Pierre Louis Choplin, Sr. Erik attended Technical College to learn HVAC before going to work at Dalton’s AC & Heating in Lafayette, LA. He was an active member of the Church at Addis where he attended regularly. 

Erik was preceded in death by his grandparents: Pierre Louis Choplin, Sr. & Mary Gleanor Devillier Choplin, and Robert Lee Cummins Sr. & Mildred Hebert, his mother: June Ellen Choplin, and his aunts: Karen Hanks and Chris Freese. 

Erik is survived by his father Robert Lee Cummins, Jr., his wife Jessica Gallagher Cummins and their son Pierre Louis Cummins, his former wife Nancy Cummins, and their children: Lilly Rene Cummins, Mary Kathryn Cummins, and Jèan Louis Cummins (wife Brittney Cummins), his grandchildren: Bailey Autumn Elizabeth Cummins, Owen Henry James Cummins, Jackson Aiden Lee Cummins, and Olivia Grace Michelle Cummins, his sisters: Rae Belange and Megan Pellerin (husband Andy Pellerin), his aunts and uncles: Sid&Marlene Beagle, Pierre Louis Choplin Jr., Maryln Choplin, Jeán&Ana Marie Cummins, Shawn&Donna Cummins, Patrick Cummins, Tracy&Yvonne Cummins, O’Neal&Terri Cormier, Candace Gilbert, and his first cousins: Tina Broussard, Chad&Nicole Choplin, Christy Bellard, Amanda Choplin, Pierre Choplin III, Todd&Shanette Cormier, Brandon Cormier, Nick&Kara Cormier, Sonny&Jennifer Broussard, Alex&Emmy Cummins, Christina Cummins, Jacob Freese, Lindsey & Alex Wright, Josh&Holly Freese, Thomas Cummins, William Cummins, Michael Cummins, Lauren Cummins, Bart&Katie Bell, Robin&Sara Aguilar, Ethan Cummins, and Julian Cummins. 

A memorial will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux in Brusly, La. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
