Eric St. Pierre

September 17, 1957 — January 25, 2024

Gramercy

Eric Gerard St. Pierre, of Gramercy, Louisiana, born on September 17, 1957, was welcomed into his eternal home on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the age of 67.  Eric was the fourth child of Clyde & Elsie St. Pierre.

Eric will be forever missed by his loving wife, of 14 years, Donna Guidry/Legendre; stepson Daryl Legendre; granddaughter Erin Legendre; honorary grandson James Ysidron, son of Nick & Bridget Hymel Ysidron; sister Pam Poirrier (Mike); brothers-in-law Gary Guidry (Jean); Edward Guidry, Jr. (Gail); Tommy Guidry (Melanie); several godchildren; nieces and nephews and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Sr. & Elsie St. Pierre; brother, Clyde St. Pierre, Jr.; sister, Roxanne St. Pierre Hymel; Brother-in-law Peter Hymel, Mother-in-law, Doris Barrilleaux, brother-in-law, Alan Guidry & wife Mona.

Eric was a long-time employee of Roland J. Robert Distributor, of Gonzales.  His employment with Robert Distributors was more than just a job, it was a career he was very proud of.  His dedication and loyalty to the company went above and beyond.  He was an employee anyone would have been lucky to have.

They say God knows when we are weary and when we have put up a good fight.  He loves us, so he calls us home to rest.  This was never truer than in Eric’s life and passing.  He fought a good fight; he put up a good battle.  He faced life’s challenges, never giving up.  He moved forward, carrying his cross-no matter how heavy his load became.  God saw this and decided his work on Earth was done, and it was time for him to rest.  He certainly was a man of faith and of great courage.

There are many wonderful things that can be said about Eric, but the greatest of all has got to be he was the world’s greatest friend!  He honestly never met a stranger.  He was always the life of the party and a man of many laughs.  Eric could talk to anyone and make them feel like they had known him forever.  Young, old, or in between, Eric could strike up a conversation with you.

A visitation will be held in Eric’s honor at The Church International in St. Amant, LA 13423 LA-431 on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 10:00 A. M.-11:00 A.M.  Services will begin at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Eric’s honor to:

National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana, Inc. 8200 Hampson Street, Suite 229 New Orleans, Louisiana 70118

Within this false world we may count ourselves blest,

If we have but one friend who is faithful and true.

And so, in your friendship contented, I'll rest,

And believe I have found that one blessing in you.
